Jaclyn Hill Ride Or Die Tag

Yay for random, unplanned blog posts!

Jaclyn Hill, of YouTube infamy, recently came up with the “Ride or Die” tag in which you must choose ONLY ONE product from each of the main makeup categories to take to a desert island. Well, I don’t ever see me being on a desert island, but this type of tag is useful when you are trying to curate your beauty collection and think about what you really use and why.

Also, I kinda guessed at the categories rather than making sure I had the right categories – sorry. Shrug.

Primer: I never can find primers that I am really happy with. Right now I am using the Monistat gel and it’s good enough, but I can’t say I love it. But I have never had one I like better either. For the eye, it is still the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer portion. It just takes so little to do the job.

Ride or die favorite primers

Foundation: Hands down the Estee Lauder double wear. It can be a little much in the summer, but it is a beautiful foundation. Whenever I try a new one, I always end up comparing it to this one and then coming back.

Concealer: I use my foundation generally.

Face Powder: My Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder. I have been through so many of these and I always go back.

Under Eye Setting Powder: Lol… no. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

Blush: Covergirl Cheekers blush in soft sable. This was the blush my mother wore so it was the first one I wore. And you know what? My mom was totally right one this one. I have tried tons of high end blushes and this one is still my favorite. Plus it’s under $4.

Bronzer: I don’t contour but I do use bronzer most days to add some color to my pale mug. I love the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil. The color is lovely and the smell is better. Fun fact – whenever I wear this bronzer and see my father-in-law, he inevitably asks me what perfume I am wearing.

Ride or die blush and bronzer – seriously look how dirty they are

Highlight: I don’t often use highlighter, but my favorite is the Balm Mary-lou-manizer.

Mascara: This one is really hard because I NEVER use only one mascara. I simply cannot choose between my drugstore favorite and my high end favorite. I would probably choose Too Faced Better Than Sex or the Covergirl Lashblast Volume mascara.

Lip Balm – I still routinely rock the EOS lip balms and it would have to be Sweet Mint all the way.

Lipstick: YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in 1 Blood Red – if I am wearing one lipstick for the rest of my lip, it is definitely going to be red and fabulous.

Liquid Lip: I never hear people talk about this, but I am a big fan of the makeup forever aqua rouge liquid lipstick. I actually wore it on my wedding day. It goes on feeling a little dry, but once you add the clear gloss that dry feeling goes away and doesn’t return.

Gloss: I don’t really do lipgloss, but my favorite would probably be the Bare minerals Marvelous Moxie lipgloss. I just love how this stuff feels on the lip – very minty.

Lashes: I’m hopeless when it comes to false lashes so I’ll pass on this one.

Eye Shadow Palette: Easy – the original Urban Decay Naked Palette. It’s the only high end palette I have ever hit pan on. It was my first big makeup purchase and still my favorite.

Eyeliner – the Jordana Cat Eye foreva’!

Setting Spray: I only use one setting spray so this one is easy- Urban Decay All Nighter

Perfume: My standard is the Burberry Brit for her. A fall classic, but I am not tied to this.

So there you have it, my ride or die makeup products. What are yours?

Thanks for reading and bigger thanks to Sierra at the Glam Gala and Reeve at Beauty by Reeva for the inspiration. Give theirs  a read as well!
